The roadmap project completes at the end of 2023 and documents produced as part of that project can be found on this page.
An analysis was undertaken by MoreBrains Cooperative and commissioned by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) to understand:
- the current state of the landscape of descriptive information (metadata) for research publications
- how it can support implementation of the requirements set out in the UKRI open access policy
The analysis shows that the landscape currently does not fully support implementation of the requirements set out in the open access policy and a phased approach to full adoption is necessary. The report makes several recommendations for how this can be achieved, which the roadmap will build on.
Subsequently, working with MoreBrains Cooperative, UKRI has established a project group to discuss the landscape analysis and its recommendations, as well as to support the future development of the roadmap.
Based on discussions so far, a list of project activities has been developed, which we anticipate will help generate discussion and consideration with the wider community.
